About me
Susan Hardman
After a career in the legal business, I moved with my husband to the Bitterroot Valley in Montana. There I could follow my dream of distilling essential oils from local plants on copper alembic stills. Working with herbalists and artisan distillers, I became a certified holistic aromatherapist. (I am the one on the right in this image taken at a distillation workshop given by artisan distiller Ann Harman in Spokane.) I distill local plants, consciously wildcrafted or grown on our farm, to obtain the volatile compounds that create scents that resonate and evoke Montana. Wildness and authenticity are suppressed in civilization - our herbal and floral fragrances let you and your guests connect and listen to the plants. At weddings, celebrations, corporate events. Our Unique Experience
At The Perfume Bar, we create enjoyable experiences for your events. Our scent bar allows guests to select their own custom fragrances (for men or women) to take home - labeled for a lasting impression.
Engage and Entertain Your Guests
Guests will sample four basic scent profiles, then select an additional favorite fragrance to customize their personal blend. It's an interactive and fun way to reflect the spirit of your gathering.
Clean, Spare Organic Feel
Our bar and tenders are styled in crisp neutral tones that won't interfere with your event design. All materials are natural and sustainably sourced.
What is Conscious Wildcrafting?
When plant materials are collected, it is important to know local laws and regulations about how and where it can be done. When a suitable specimen is found, we sit with that plant momentarily and request permission to take a branch. Maybe even offer some water or compost. And never take so much that the plant will suffer. With this perspective, the distiller and perfumer can create the finest scents.
